Tumi has expanded its Tegra-Lite line of hardside rolling carry-ons and larger luggage. The new Tegra-Lite Max line adds a number of new features, most notably expansion, to the to the tough yet lightweight Tegra-Lite bags.

The expansion system adds two inches to the cases, and feature ballistic nylon and a polypropylene reinforced zipper that is stronger and reduces sagging. In addition, the new, leather-trimmed exterior U-Zip Pocket on the front of the bags adds even more space. The interior features a tie-down strap system and water-resistant lining. The carry-ons feature a built-in suiter, while larger cases have a removable one.

The new double-360-degree wheels are recessed for better stability and control, and are 2.5 times larger than the original Tegra-Lite line's wheels.

The case is made of Tegris, a polypropylene thermoplastic use in NASCAR vehicles and ballistic armor. The frame is reinforced with Tumi's Durafold construction, which features frame reinforcements and corner caps. The telescoping handle features the X-Brace 45, an aircraft grade aluminum housing system that protects the handles when recessed.

Tegra-Lite Max bags have a high-gloss, scratch resistant finish and come in five colors: T-Graphite, Sunrise, Baltic, Charcoal, and woven Herringbone. The cases start at $695 for carry-on models and range up to $975 for larger cases.
