Briggs & Riley luggage is known for its innovative engineering and for the kind of toughness that lets it offer an unconditional lifetime guarantee. Now the company has a line intended and designed for the female traveler.

The Sympatico Collection, introduced this month, offers three sizes of hard-sided polycarbonate spinner bags with matching soft-sided totes.

The main hard-sided bags include a 21-inch carry-on, 27-inch medium, and the 30-inch large pieces, available in black, burgundy, and marine blue. The matching Shopping Totes are 13.5 high by 18.5 wide by 7.5 inches deep and weigh only one pound. A larger Weekender tote, Backpack, and Crossbody bag will be available in black.

Made of 100% virgin makrolon polycarbonate, which Briggs & Riley say is tougher than recycled, the hard-sided spinners are the company's lightest-ever bags, with the 21-inch International Carry-On Spinner weighing just 6.7 pounds. Other features include double spinner wheels, a variety of handle height settings, and adjustable garment panels to help keep clothing neat. The bags have a soft blue lining with cream-colored pockets, and outside handles for a flat packable interior. The polycarbonate cases start at $389 retail, and the totes are $119.
