Life is messy. And a large part of succeeding in life is mastering the art of cleaning up. To do that, you need a great vacuum. Fortunately, there are many options available to award winners -- and that's a group that generally knows how to suck it up and do what needs doing.

Still, very few people actually enjoy having to do housework, and the worse thing about vacuums is that there are always filters to clean or bags to replace. Not only are those things disgusting to touch, but as they fill up, they vastly reduce the suction power of the vacuum.

But not when it comes to Dyson's Big Ball Cinetic Animal Canister Vacuum, available through Lapine.

What's unique about this model is that there aren't any filters to wash or bags to toss out, thanks to Dyson's so-called Cinetic technology -- which is designed to separate dust and dirt and keep it from clogging the air filter. In other words, the Big Ball Cinetic Animal Canister is a vacuum cleaner for people who hate hassling with vacuum cleaners.

As an added bonus, it's self-righting like other Dyson big ball vacs, meaning you're not going to have to pick it up every time you leave the room. Out-of-the-box, it comes with a host of attachments for hard-to-reach places and for dealing with particularly obnoxious and hard-to-clean debris, like pet hair.

But the Animal Canister vac does have a cord. If you're into mobility, check out Dyson's V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum, also available through Lapine.

The Absolute comes with a docking/charging station and, once revved and ready, provides 40 minutes of suction. It also has a dirt ejector to easily empty the grit you pick up from your floor. And if you're really having a tough time, it has a max power mode, which provides seven minutes of uber-powerful suction. And like all cordless Dysons, this one can also transform into a handheld.

But while Dyson makes great household vacs, what if you have an industrial-sized mess? Another option for heavy duty messes is Karcher's 6.6 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum, available through Rymax Marketing Services. Obviously, as a wet/dry vac, Karcher's device can suck up liquid spills just as easily as outdoor detritus. But it's also got a built-in blower if you need to quickly remove dust.

Another roption is Shop-Vac's Indoor/Outdoor Shop Sweep, available through Lapine. It's great for your garage or your shop, or for vacuuming the pine needles and leaves that collect outside.

It comes with two height settings, a safety-switch and kickstand, and an eight-gallon collection bag.
