Canon USA has added four new models to its point-and-shoot lineup.

The PowerShot G16, S120 and SX510 HS digital cameras come with built-in Wi-Fi features that allow images and video files to be transferred from the camera to social networking sites through the Canon Image Gateway or via an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. All three also have 12.1 megapixel sensors, faster autofocus, and can record 1080p Full HD video.

The PowerShot G16 has a 28-140 mm wide-angle lens and Canon's HS system for improved low-light image quality, as well as DIGIC 6 image processing. The G16's shooting modes include several new Star modes specially designed for shooting the night sky. It has a built-in stereo microphone and an HDMI port for viewing images and video on an HDTV. The PowerShot G16 will be available in October, with an estimated retail price of $549.99.

The PowerShot S120 uses a 24-120 mm extra-wide angle lens, Canon's low-light HS System, DIGIC 6 image processing, the Star modes, as well as a built-in stereo microphone and an HDMI port. Smart AUTO technology automatically selects from 58 different pre-defined scene modes depending on the situation. It is set to be available in October for an estimated $449.99.

The SX510 HS has a 30x optical zoom 24mm wide-angle lens, intelligent image stabilization, and what Canon calls "dramatically" improved auto-focus to reduce lag time, as well as a "Zoom Framing Assist feature that automatically maintains the correct distance from the subject using a face recognition sensor to track and capture subjects for sharp still and video images." It is scheduled to be available in September for an estimated $249.99.

Beyond these three models, Canon also announced the PowerShot SX170 IS, featuring a 16x optical zoom with a 28mm wide-angle lens and optical image stabilization. It has a DIGIC 4 image processor and 16.0-megapixel sensor, as well as the ability to shoot video in 720p high definition.
