Bose has introduced its next-generation on-ear headphones offering a new look and claimed significantly better audio performance.

The OE2 and OE2i headphones come in black and white finishes and offer improved depth and clarity of music, according to Bose. Both models have redesigned and retuned ear cup ports to produce a sound that is said to be more balanced and natural.

The OE2i model also has an inline microphone/remote that allows users to control Apple iPhones and iPads, as well as iPods and laptop computers by other brands.

The headphones' lie-flat collapsible design now has contoured styling for a closer and more comfortable fit. Aside from being smaller and lighter, the OE2 has ear cushions made of memory foam to conform better to the shape of the ear.

Combined with a redesigned headband, this makes for a more comfortable fit so that the headphones can be used for hours without the irritating pressure points caused by some conventional headphones that sit on, rather than over, the ears.

The OE2 is available for $149.95 and the OE2i for $179.95.
