Today, Stamford, CT-based Westin Hotels & Resorts announced the global debut of a $15-million-dollar wellness campaign that will be carried out in nearly 200 hotels and resorts around the world. The "Westin Well-Being Movement" as it is called will be a year-long initiative formed out of partnerships with various health, fitness, and wellness organizations, focusing on each of Westin’s signature brand pillars: Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well.

To celebrate the launch of this new initiative, nearly 200 Westin properties around the world will offer wellbeing "open houses" where guests and Westin employees alike can experience a variety of Westin's health-and-wellness-focuses programs from guided 5K runs and Heavenly Spa mini appointments to SuperfoodsRx juice bars and group yoga sessions.

At The Westin Grand Central New York, Brian Povinelli, global brand leader for Westin Hotels, hosted a media lunch to announce the campaign and introduce one of its key partnerships with Headspace, a company that specializes in developing practical mindfulness and mediation tools. Prior to the lunch, Headspace co-founder Andy Puddicombe led a 10-minute meditation exercise for media attendees, as well as another mass meditation exercise for the general public in New York City's Flatiron district, coinciding with the start of spring and the International day of Happiness and Well-being.

"At Westin, our mission is to be a partner in our guest's wellbeing before, during, and after their stay and this is the motivation behind this movement," said Povinelli. "We are proud to partner with some of the world's premier wellness brands and experts to provide innovative, personalized offerings at our hotels around the world, with the goal of inspiring and empowering our guests and associates."

Feel Well: Westin Partners With Headspace
To support Westin's "Feel Well" pillar, the brand has partnered with Headspace to offer guests and associates alike simple, guided meditation exercises as part of a complete, brand-wide mindfulness and meditation program. Guests can find specially curated content from Headspace, including audio and video files, on meditation and mindfulness on the Westin.com website. Special Headspace modules will also be introduced to help promote wellness in the workplace.

"Headspace is a brand who shares our passion for improving the health and wellbeing of communities around the world, and we are thrilled that Andy and his team will be a part of this journey," said Povinelli.

Headspace's Puddicombe will also serve on the new Westin Well-being Council, a diverse advisory board of different leaders who specialize in each of Westin’s six wellness pillars. The council will be featured on the brand's new well-being digital hub, and more appointees will be announced throughout the year.

"We are very excited to be the official launch partner for Westin's Well-being movement," said Puddicombe. "The health benefits of practicing mindfulness are widely recognized, and this partnership highlights Westin's commitment to improving the wellbeing of their guests and associates."

Wellness at Westin
The new Westin Well-being Movement is an extension of many of Westin's already long-established wellness features, amenities, and programs that include the brand's signature Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Spa, its partnership with SuperfoodsRx, and its Westin Gear Lending with New Balance program. The hotel brand also offers Tangent, a workspace concept that is geared toward mobile business and meeting travelers.
