Ritz-Carlton Plans Return to Australia After a Long Absence

After a nearly 15-year absence from the continent, Ritz-Carlton has announced its return "down under": It will open The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, in Perth, Australia, in 2018.

The property -- the brand's first in Australia since 2001, when it closed the Ritz-Carlton Double Bay in Sydney -- will have 204 guest rooms, ground-floor retail space, waterfront dining experiences, and luxury one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The waterfront property will a sweeping views over the Swan River, as well as the nearby attractions of Kings Park and the Botanical Garden.
"We are delighted to make our return to Australia, bringing our legendary services to Perth," Ritz-Carlton President and Chief Operations Officer Herve Humler said in a statement. "We have listened to our guests who have a strong desire to stay with us when the travel to this beautiful destination in Western Australia. We have great partners … and look forward to opening this incredible hotel in 2018."
