Digital gifting and incentives company CashStar made two announcements today at the PrePaid Expo in Las Vegas.
The Portland, ME–based company first launched
eCorporate Incentives, its new B2B product that enables companies to bulk order personalized digital gift cards that can be sent immediately to recipients via e-mail from retailers using CashStar software. In addition, National Gift Card Corporation (NGC), a distributor of discounted gift cards, has signed on to deliver CashStar-powered digital gift cards to NGC’s corporate customers.
“We think the new service is revolutionary,” said CashStar CEO David Stone. “It allows [corporate clients] to order directly from Home Depot or CVS or any other business that uses our tool set. They choose a design, personalize a message, and have it arrive [to the recipient] within minutes. Say your team worked all night and you want to thank them in the morning. They can have a gift card on their desktops when they get in. There’s no more ‘the gift card is in the mail.’”
While some gift card companies offer bulk-ordering services, CashStar claims to be the first B2B solution for retailers that provides flexible personalization options combined with instant digital delivery and real-time data-tracking capabilities.
Once a retailer sets up their eCorporate Incentives account, they can choose how much personalization they want to offer corporate clients, from image uploads and co-branding with logos, to length of personalized message and dollar-amount. Corporate clients then set up their own accounts with the retailer—be sure to ask about bulk discount rates—and then can begin using the service.
“The business-to-business corporate incentives market is very important in the restaurant industry, and eCorporate Incentives simplifies gift card management and fulfillment,” said Cary Kuykendall, gift card manager at O’Charley’s Inc, a restaurant company with 368 outlets in the United States and a beta tester of the new CashStar product. “We’re excited about the Web-based platform and about the opportunities for growth and deeper customer engagement. The eCorporate Incentives application works seamlessly within our CashStar digital gifting platform so we can manage our entire consumer digital gifting and corporate incentives business on one platform.”
CashStar currently works with 27 retail brands, but will unveil new partners soon. “Also, bulk is a bright spot in the gift card industry. It’s growing between 22 and 55 percent over last year, and we estimate the corporate incentives market to be between $35 and $70 billion,” added Stone. “That’s a big opportunity for retailers.”
