Fall for These New Watch Styles

The seasons may be changing, but classic watch
styles aren't going anywhere. According to Adrienne Forrest,
vice president for special markets at Bulova, "the sizes for
watches continue to get bigger," with women wearing "what used
to be traditionally a man's watch." This trend allows for the
addition of more functions, such as subdials and chronographs,
as well as decorative stones.
"Whether it's a crystal or a diamond, cases encrusted with
stones continue to be very popular," Forrest says.
A case in point: The Bulova Precisionist Fairlawn Collection
stainless-steel timepiece (96R167), with 24 individually
hand-set diamonds, a patterned white mother-of-pearl dial, and
striking metallic-blue hour and minute hands. The watch is
water resistant up to 98 feet. $550,

Another watch that demonstrates a renewed interest in stone
detailing is the Caravelle by Bulova charm watch (43L147),
individually hand set with 36 Swarovski elements crystals, two
patterned purple beads and two charms, a silver-plated case and
snake bracelet, and a pearlized white dial. $149.99,

Meanwhile, for men, the popularity of multiple functions is
clearly evident in the Men's Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Angels
World Chrono A-T (AT8020-54L; not pictured). The navy-blue face
is accentuated by a 1/20th-second chronograph that measures up
to 60 minutes, date, and a perpetual calendar. It's water
resistant up to 200 feet. $650,

Another continued trend is the popularity of rose gold, Forrest
says. Amber Grimes, product and marketing coordinator for
Fossil, says that leather straps are also popular for women.
Fossil's Heather Leather Watch combines
these trends by featuring a rose-gold-plated round dial and
super-slim leather strap. It is water resistant up to 98 feet.

Citizen's Ladies Eco-Drive Ciena (EM0093-59A) boasts an elegant
rose-gold case encrusted with 20 diamonds. The Citizen
Eco-Drive technology means it never needs a battery. $450,

The black-on-black trend continues to be a popular color
combination for men. Fossil's Machine Stainless Steel Watch
(FS4718) features a striking black square case and matching
black stainless-steel strap. It is water resistant up to 98
feet. $145,
