Tumi Brings 'Icons' into Luggage, Travel Special Markets

Premium luggage and travel accessory company Tumi has unleashed what it hopes will be an iconic line of messenger bags, totes, backpacks into the special markets. Writing about the new T-Tech Icon collection in his periodic flyer for the incentive channel, Mike Landry, Tumi's director of special markets, describes it as “the most important addition to the T-Tech brand in several seasons.”
Said to take a casual approach to business bags, the unisex T-Tech Icon collection comprises 12 products for “modern styled men and women who are design focused” that meet “the needs of youthful and independent lifestyles.”
There are several cross-body-slung totes and messenger bags available, as are two wheeled bags—one a backpack and one a travel carry-on. All of them come in standard colors of black and cadet blue, while some products are offered in a red/gray plaid print during this fall. Product prices in the T-Tech Icon collection range from $95 to $295.
The T-Tech Icon products feature durable nylon fabric, lightweight construction, telescopic aluminum handles, in-line skate wheels, lockable zippers with sure-grip rubberized zipper pulls, and multiple pockets. Decorative touches are woven T-Tech branding, rivets, sculpted hooks, and embroidered Tumi logos that are discreetly positioned.
Tumi supports secondary branding like company logos, which would be embroidered in contrast colors.
